When A-Trak (real name Alain Macklovitch) was just 13 years old, he already knew that becoming a DJ was a dream of his whole life. He bought his first DJ equipment and started mixing songs in his bedroom. In one of the interviews, Alain admitted that he was so immersed in the process that even forgot to sleep sometimes.
Thanks to the power of his personality and determination, the young DJ learned how to create live rhythms and started gaining popularity fast. In 1997, Alain won a world famous DJ competition DMCs World DJ Championship. At 15, he became the youngest winner in the history of the contest. Back then, none of the popular Canadian musicians took the boy seriously.
In the 1990’s, A-Trak was part of the legendary band Invisibl Skratch Piklz.Even though the peak of their popularity was in the 1990’s when the world was mourning Kurt Kobain and punk rock, they still managed to build an army of fans. Thanks to the talented DJ, the band came up with a unique sound, which none of the other bands could recreate.
