In 2006, Adele graduated the BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology and started pursuing a singing career. At that time, the singer was just 18 years old. The young age didn’t stop her from becoming a talented guitar and piano player.
Soon after graduation, Adele recorded several demo songs. They became very successful thanks to the singer’s friends. Without telling her a word, Adele’s friends uploaded the songs to MySpace. In December, she released a new hit, "Chasing Pavements", which stayed on high positions of the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. At that time, many fans wanted to book Adele for private events, but she was busy with studio work.
In 2008, her debut album, 19, came out. In just a couple of days, it topped the UK Albums Chart. The LP sold over 500,000 copies in a month. In the spring, Adele signed a contract with Columbia Records to promote her songs in the USA and Canada. Soon, she embarked on a tour of the two countries.
In 2010, the singer was nominated for a Grammy award for the single, "Hometown Glory".
In 2011, Adele presented her second album, 21. The single, “Rolling in the Deep” stayed on top of Billboard Hot 100 for almost two months. The album itself held high positions in many European charts for 1.5 months. The LP earned a whopping 17 platinum certifications in the UK and sold 35 million copies worldwide.
Even a bigger success came to Adele in 2012 when she recorded a soundtrack to the new James Bond movie “Skyfall”. The single with the same name brought the singer a Golden Globe, Academy Award, and a Grammy.
Adele’s fans had to wait for a while for the release of the next LP. It came out five years later and got the name according to the singer’s age – 25. The lead single “Hello” topped all American and European charts.
At the beginning of 2016, the singer recorded a successful single “When We Were Young”. Soon, another hit, “Send My Love”, came out.
In 2017, Adele earned five Grammy Awards and became the first singer to earn “Song of the Year”, “Album of the Year”, and “Record of the Year” awards for two years.
Adele’s career has its ups and downs. She either presents amazing hits, which top charts and earn her numerous awards or stays in the dark without any studio work.
However, this doesn’t keep her from being one of the most famous artists in the world. Adele is also one of the highest-paid artists in the UK.
The media is full of rumors about Adele’s activity. Some say that she is working on a new album, which is bound to conquer the charts. Others believe that she decided to quit the music business. None of the rumors are confirmed by Adele’s team. Her fans are waiting for the next LP to appear in December 2019.
