In 2012, Alesso released one more original track “Years”, recorded together with Matthew Koma. It brought the musician the 20th position in DJ Magazine’s top-100 Best DJs of 2012 list.
In 2013, the artist made it to the 13th spot of the abovementioned list after releasing a single “Under Control” and appearing on such festivals as “Coachella”, “Electric Daisy Carnival”, “Ultra Music Festival”, and “Tomorrowland”. The single “Under Control” came in 8th on the Swedish chart and earned several platinum statuses in different countries. At that time, many clubs tried to book Alesso for different events.
In 2014, the artist signed a contract with an American label, Def Jam Recordings, and recorded a new track “Rear The Roof Up”. The music video for the song was released on a mobile app Snapchat.
In 2015, Alesso presented his debut LP, Forever, which featured such popular singles as "Heroes (We Could Be)" and "Tear the Roof Up". The former was officially released in December 2015 and soon appeared on BBC Radio 1.
In October 2016, Alesso and a singer from Taiwan, Jolin Tsai, performed a single “I Wanna Know” on a music festival Storm in China. The joint performance of these two talented musicians meant to symbolize conquering the differences between East and West in electronic music. Soon after the performance, Alesso worked with another Asian artist Chen (from a popular Korean k-pop boy band Exo) to re-record his single “Years”. The single was aired on SM Station.
In a few days, Alesso released a new single “Take My Breath Away”. The song was presented at the Ultra Music Festival Taiwan. The track earned immense popularity among Asian fans and reached the 56th spot of the Swedish national chart.
In September 2017, Alesso worked with such artists as Watt and Florida Georgia Line. A little later, he paired up with a Brazil singer Anitta to release “Is That for Me”
In 2018, Alesso went on his first European tour and attended Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. The same year, the DJ headlined Electric Zoo together with Tiesto. Later, he participated in the concert series arranged by ABC’s Good Morning America, where the DJ debuted with a new single “Remedy”. The concert took place in New York’s Central Park. The single topped US Dance Airplay and came in 30th on the official Swedish chart.
In the fall of 2018, the DJ gave three concerts in Los Angeles. All of them were sold out. He also performed in Brooklyn and San Francisco. All the performances earned excellent reviews from the American critics.
The same year Alesso presented his new single “Tilted Towers”, which he recorded together with a famous videogame streamer Ninja. The song came out on Twitch.tv. More than 50,000 fans of Alesso watched the performance online. To promote the track, Ninja and Alesso streamed how they played a video game Fortnite.
At the end of 2018, Alesso performed in Florida. Together with a reggaeton singer from Columbia J Balvin, he created an unforgettable show.
