The band’s full name is Bangtan Boys. The members are Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. BTS was formed by Big Hit Entertainment label in Seoul.
The label began auditioning artists in 2010. The initial lineup of the boy band changed several times. The first songs were released on YouTube and SoundCloud. The group caught the attention of the music industry when it worked with 2AM on "Love U, Hate U".
In 2012, the lineup was finalized. A year later, the group performed on the Korean TV channel project Rookie King: Channel Bangtan. At that time, they released the first successful tracks, "좋아요 (I Like It)", "Attack on Bangtan", "No More Dream", "팔도강산 (Satoori Rap)", "We On", "N.O", and "If I Ruled the World". The band didn’t become popular beyond South Korea immediately. But the songs made it into the local charts. Later that year, BTS worked with Jo Kwon, Lim Jeong Hee, and Joo Hee of 8eight to record a single "Perfect Christmas".
In 2014, the group worked on TV projects American Hustle Life on Mnet and BTS GO! on Mnet America. The same year, they recorded a debut LP, which in South Korea got the name Dark & Wild. The album was also released for the Japanese audience. That version was called Wake Up. To support the LP, BTS went on a 2014 BTS Live Trilogy-Episode I: The Red Bullet tour.
