This German Eurodance group appeared in 1995. It was founded in Darmstadt. The most well-known single of the group is entitled “Captain Jack”. It was included in the list of Top 10 hits in a number of charts across Europe.
Originally, the group involved Sharky Durban and Liza da Costa. They released the singles “Dam, Dam, Dam” and “Captain Jack”. The debut EP of the band “The Mission” was released only after Sharky left and was replaced by Franky Gee (real name is Francisco Gutierrez). Gutierrez contributed greatly to the style of the band’s music and suggested a costume that looked very much like the uniform of a US Army officer. The style of the hat the members of the band were to wear was based on the style of the hats worn by the US Marines.
Together with Liza da Costa, they presented to the public the singles “Drill Instruction” and “Holiday” as well as the albums “The Mission” and “Operating Dance”. In 1998, Liza left the band to pursue a career as a solo-musician.
Maria Lucia Lozanes (known under the stage name Maloy) that replaced Liza da Costa wasn’t a part of the band for long. She took part in the production of the singles “Dream a Dream”, “Get Up” and “Only You” as well as the 3rd album entitled “The Captain's Revenge”. She left the band in 2000.
