Greyson Chance was born on August 16, 1997, in Texas. He is a singer, a pianist, and a songwriter. He is mostly known for his songs “Stars”, “Broken Hearts”, and “Waiting Outside the Lines”.
Greyson was singing ever since he was four years old. When he turned nine, he started taking piano lessons but was never taught how to sing professionally.
In 2010, when Greyson was just 12 years old, he uploaded a video to YouTube in which he performed Lady Gaga’s song “Paparazzi”. The boy had no idea how popular his performance will become. In just a week, the video was viewed over three million times. As of now, the video has over 36 million views.
Soon after the success, Greyson was invited to the Ellen DeGeneres show, where he again performed “Paparazzi” for new fans. The same year he signed a deal with Interscope records. In September, Greyson performed at We Day 2010 in Toronto where he sang Augustan’s “Fire”.
In October 2010, Greyson released his fist single “Waiting Outside the Lines”. The single was very popular but failed to make it into Billboard 100. It reached 12th spot on the Heatseekers Chart. The same year Chance won Hollywood Teen TV Award for Best YouTube Artist. After the release, he went on a tour with Cody Simpson (an Australian singer).
