The duo was becoming more and more popular. The artists were invited to different TV shows and music channels. Many fans wanted to book Icona Pop for private events. But they were too busy recording new songs and performing live.
In 2012, the duo signed a contract with Big Beat Records (part of Atlantic Records Group). They started working on a new album and presented an EP, The Iconic. The musicians earned positive reviews from the critics and the media. Their names appeared in such journals as NME, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork Media. In the summer, the group attended many music festivals, including Summerburst.
Iconic EP (2012) climbed to the 21st spot of the iTunes chart in the USA. In 2013, the duo went to tour the United States with Matt & Kim and Passion Pit. In the spring, Icona Pop appeared on the list of artists to watch on the TV channel Fuse. The same year the hit single “I Love It” was played in numerous TV shows, movies, and sitcoms. It became platinum in many countries.
In the summer of 2013, Icona Pop released one more single “Girlfriend”. In one of the interviews, the young women shared that they’ll soon be releasing an LP with sixteen new songs. The same year, the duo earned two Teen Choice awards. The new official single of the upcoming album This Is… Icona Pop was "All Night". It became a hit in Europe.
In 2014, Icona Pop recorded a single “Get Lost”, which was less popular than its predecessors. In the summer, the duo performed as an opening act for Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry tour. The young women worked with Tiesto to record his single “Let’s Go”. They also helped Cobra Starship present “Never Been In Love". The song was very popular in Italy.
In the spring of 2015, the duo presented a single “Emergency”, recorded with Erik Hassle. In just a few weeks, the single topped Billboard Dance Chart. The artists were invited to be the opening act at One Direction’s On The Road Again Tour.
The single "We Got The World" from the second LP appeared in the movie Pitch Perfect 2. At the beginning of 2016, the duo performed its hit "Someone Who Can Dance" at Grammis Award ceremony in Stockholm. In the fall, the group recorded a new hit “Brightside”. A little later, the song “GIRLS GIRLS”, recorded with Tove Lo, came out. The same year the singers lent their voices to the characters from the animated movie Trolls.
