Jax Jones is the stage name of Timuchin Fabian Kwong Wah Aluo who was born in 1987. Jax is a well-known DJ and producer. When a kid, he listened to the music of different styles starting from afrobeat and to rap and hip-hop. He started taking guitar lessons at a young age. When a teenager, he got interested in beat making. He started to visit lessons on it at the age of 15. The list of producers who had an influence on his style of music and rhythm anatomy involves The Neptunes, Timbaland and Rodney Jerkins.
He started his career by taking part in open microphone events in London devoted to club music. At one of these events, he got acquainted with Ripperman, a producer who invited him to work at Brixton Raw Material Studio. There, Jax had an opportunity to work on the releases for a number of musicians including Roadside Gs and Big Narstie. He worked hard to improve his skills as a DJ. He never changed his mind to become a DJ even though his parents encouraged him to enroll in Oxford. Jax choose to apply to Brunel University so that to stay closer to the studio. Everyday he had to make a 2-hour trip from Brunel University where he studied to the studio.
His breakthrough happened back in 2014, when he met Duke Dumont. Actually, exactly after he met Duke, he got interested in house music very much. Dumont offered Jax to contribute to several of his singles. The single “I Got U” released in the same year topped the UK Singles Chart. The single “Won’t Look Back” was no less popular and contributed to the fame of both Jax Jones and Duke Dumont. Next year, he continued to build a career in the music industry. He presented to the public the debut single entitled “Yeah Yeah Yeah” and, once again, worked in collaboration with Dumont. He co-wrote his single “Ocean Drive” that almost instantly became a hit and was considered to be the most popular song of the summer 2015.
In 2016, Jax worked in collaboration with a couple of other well-known figures in the industry of music – British vocalist MNEK and Mike Dunn who is considered to be a real master when it comes down to house music. Together they created the single “House Work”.
Currently, there isn’t much known about the plans of Jax for 2017 in terms of his new releases and debut album. We’ll wait and see what this immensely talented DJ will do next.
