Jesse Adam Eisenberg was born on October 5, 1983, in Queens, NY. He grew up in New Jersey. Jesse has two sisters Hallie and Kerry, who also tried acting when they were young.
In 1996, Jesse joined a popular music group The Broadway Kids and started performing in Broadway musicals. His debut performance was in Tennessee Williams’ play Summer and Smoke.
In 1999, the young actor landed a role in the TV series Get Real, where he worked with the young Anne Hathaway.
When Jesse was 16, he started writing his own screenplays. Some of them were accepted by major movie studios. However, Eisenberg couldn’t live with the fact that when the screenplays left his hands, he lost control over them.
In 2001, Eisenberg worked on three projects: the TV film Lightning: Fire from the Sky, a movie The Emperor's Club and an independent comedy-drama Roger Dodger. In the latter project, Jesse played Nick. The role brought him a prize at the film festival in San Diego.
In 2005, Jesse worked on an independent movie The Squid and The Whale, directed by Noah Baumbach. He also landed a role in a horror movie Cursed, which was directed by Wes Craven. The same year, Jessie found the time to work on theater projects, such as Lyle Kessler’s Orphans. Eisenberg attended many theater-related events as well.
In 2007, four movies that featured Jesse came out. One of them was Richard Shepherd’s The Hunting Party, where Jesse worked together with Richard Gere.
In 2009, Eisenberg landed a role in a comedy-horror movie Zombieland, in which he performed with Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. The role of Columbus brought Jessie great acclaim.
The year 2010 was highly important for Jessie. Just like a year earlier, four of the movies he worked on were released. The major role of the year and his career at the time was Mark Zuckerberg in the movie The Social Network. This role brought Eisenberg several awards. He was nominated as the Best Actor for several major awards, including Oscar.
In 2011, Jesse lent his voice to the leading character of the animated movie Rio. He also worked on the leading role in the black comedy 30 Minutes Or Less. Besides, in the October 2011, Eisenberg debuted as a playwright in the play Asuncion inCherry Lane Theatre.
In 2012, Eisenberg worked on four movies. One of them was Woody Allen’s To Rome With Love. He also played himself in a comedy He's Way More Famous Than You.
In 2013, the actor worked on the first part of a heist thriller Now You See Me and a British black comedy The Double, where he played two roles. The same year Jessie got a leading role in the movie Night Moves.
In 2015, Jessie appeared in three movies: dramas The End of The Tour and Louder Than Bombs as well as an action comedy American Ultra.
In 2016, Eisenberg performed the role of antihero Lex Luthor in the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The same year the second part of Now You See Me was released.
In 2017, Eisenberg continued playing Lex Luthor in the next part of the Batman series called Justice League.
