Kelly Clarkson was born on April 24, 1982. She is a singer, a songwriter, and an actress, who won the 1st season of American Idol in 2012. Kelly is mostly famous for such hits as “Before Your Love”, “Since You’ve Been Gone”, and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”. She holds numerous awards, including 3 Grammies and 12 Billboard Music awards.
When Kelly Clarkson was in high school, she dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. But then her hobbies took a U-turn and she became interested in singing. When one of the teachers heard Kelly perform, she was accepted into a local choir and soon became the leading vocalist. Ever since then Clarkson decided to devote her life to music. After finishing high school and enrolling in a local college, Kelly started landing roles in student musicals and dreaming of recording an album.
While she was studying, Kelly had several jobs. She was trying to save money on renting a recording studio. Eventually, she managed to create a demo-record and send it out to various recording companies. However, no one paid attention to her work.

Kelly used the rest of her savings to rent an apartment in Hollywood. After moving, she started performing at local bars, where she met some important people, including Gerry Goffin, a famous songwriter. He helped Clarkson get several good contracts, which allowed her to perform in elite LA clubs. Soon Clarkson became rather popular and landed a small role in a movie Issues 101. After a few months of success, some personal issues forced Clarkson to move back to Texas.
In 2002, Clarkson auditioned and was accepted into the 1st season of American Idol, which she ended up winning. Kelly finally became famous. The song she performed at the show “A Moment Like This” was released as a single and became a big hit in the USA. It topped Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks and sold over 230,000 copies.
Clarkson worked hard on her music career. She released 7 studio albums, the latest one to date being Piece by Piece (2015). Each one of her albums was incredibly successful, getting to the top positions of various charts and earning at least golden certifications. Clarkson is currently working on new songs and performs live.
