Singer and songwriter Keri Lynn Hilson was born on 5 December 1982 in Georgia, near Atlanta. She was an active child, who always wanted to keep trying something new. Such an approach helped her become one of the leading members of the school swimming team. Keri also appeared on TV, in such projects as Star Search and Showtime at the Apollo. They helped Keri start her music career.
Hilson’s mother was a piano teacher, who noted that the young woman never liked playing musical instruments. She always favored singing. Keri spent all of her free time, training her voice. At 18, she became a back vocalist in a local group, D’Sign.
Hilson is an excellent singer and a good songwriter. She wrote texts for such artists as Usher, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, and Ludacris when they were in the initial stages of their careers. The future celebrity started working with a songwriter Anthony Dent, who was popular for his collaboration with Destiny’s Child and Diddy.
After graduating from high school. Keri continued her music career and enrolled in Emory University in Atlanta. She managed to combine working and studying. Soon, the young women had to go through some life changes. She left her first band and started working with a producer, Polow da Don.
