Mandy Moore was born on April 10, 1984, in New Hampshire, USA. She is a singer, a songwriter, and an actress. Mandy is mostly known for such hits as “Candy” and “I Wanna Be With You”. She also lent her voice to Rapunzel in Disney animation movie and video games.
Ever since she was young, Moore was dreaming about singing. Her grandmother, a talented ballerina, supported the girl’s wish. When Mandy was 15, she was noticed by a casting director of Epic Records and her career took off.
In 1999, Mandy released her first studio album So Real. It reached the 31st spot on the US Albums Chart and sold almost a million copies. The critics didn’t give the album good reviews even though it was rather popular.
Mandy Moore was becoming more and more successful. She went on a tour with Backstreet Boys and worked on new albums. Even though she didn’t manage to reach the same level in the 1990’s as Spears or Aguilera, Moore still became a popular singer. Her single “I Wanna Be With You” (2000) is her best work so far. It reached the 24th spot on Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart. Overall, Mandy released 6 studio albums, the last one to date being Amanda Leigh (2009). The album reached the 25th spot on Billboard 200 but sold only 16,000 copies in the USA.
