Maya, of British and Japanese descent, was born and raised in London. Maya’s passion for music started in her early teens when she decided to learn how to produce music using Cubase, producing hip-hop and trip hop. Her first two records on Dogmatik Records were released in 2008 and 2009.
BBC invited her to do an Essential Mix, which was later nominated for Essential Mix of the Year 2011. She was invited back in 2013.
