Michelle Branch was born on July 2, 1983 in Arizona, USA. She is a singer, a songwriter, and an actress. Michelle holds several music awards including a Grammy. She is mostly famous for such hits as “Everywhere”, “All You Wanted”, and “ Are You Happy Now?”.

Michelle was interested in music ever since she was a child. She was greatly influenced by a concert of New Kids On the Block, which she attended at an early age. The girl wanted to become a ballerina but her parents didn’t support the idea, and she started singing in a choir.

Michelle started writing songs when she was in high school. She made a decision to make a demo record and send it to a recording studio. After only two months, she received her first offer.

Branch’s first step to fame was performing on a tour, which was arranged in support of the Hanson band. Michelle signed a contract with producer John Shanks, who worked with such celebrities as Melissa Etheridge and Sheryl Crow. She then signed a deal with Maverick Records.

In 2001, when she was just 17 years old, Michelle released her first album The Spirit Room, which went platinum. It reached the 28th spot on Billboard 200 and 54th spot on the UK Singles chart. The LP sold over a million copies worldwide.

In 2002, she was chosen by Santana to participate in recording his new song “The Game of Love”. The song brought both of them a Grammy award.

In 2003, Michelle released her next album Hotel Paper. It reached the 2nd spot on Billboard 200 and 35th spot on UK Albums Chart. It also got into the top -10 of various European charts and received golden and platinum certification.

In 2005, Branch created a duo called The Wreckers. The second part of the duo was her friend Jessica Harp. The duo stayed together for 3 years and released one studio album Stand Still, Look Pretty (2006), which reached the 14th spot on Billboard 200 and received a gold certification in the USA. The most famous hit of The Wreckers was “Leave The Pieces”, which topped the US Country Chart and went golden in the USA.

In 2017, Michelle released her third studio album Hopeless Romantic, which was included in Billboard 200, but wasn’t as successful as her previous work. Branch continues to write new songs and performs live.
