In 2006, Lo formed a rock band called Tremblebee. Later, a representative of the local label listened to Lo’s performance and liked it. They met at a party in Stockholm, thrown in honor of Icona Pop. Then they accidently met in the bar. The representative appreciated Lo’s work and helped her take the right steps toward a successful career.
In 2011, the singer signed a contract with Warner / Chappell Music. In order to collaborate with the label, Lo moved to LA. In the USA, she worked with a famous Swedish artist and producer Max Martin. Next year, she collaborated with Xenomania – a songwriting team of producers from the UK. During that period, Tove decided to release several independent songs. In 2012, she recorded “Love Ballad”. In 2013, “Habits” appeared and, later, conquered the world.
Tove also had a chance to work with such artists as Seven Lions and Myon & Shane 54. Together they recorded a single “Strangers”, which turned into a soundtrack to the movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. In 2013, she collaborated with such producers as Max Martin and Shellback.
In 2014, Wolf Cousins label offered the singer a contract. Soon, she released a debut LP, Queen of the Clouds, which reached the 14th spot of Billboard 200. The track “Habits (Stay High)” came out as a single and settled on the 3rd spot of Billboard Hit 100. It was an impressive result. Immediately, many organizers started trying to book Tove Lo for private events.
The singer’s second LP, Lady Wood, came out in the fall of 2016. The most successful single featured in the album was “Cool Girl”. Several days before the release, Tove announced a tour of Europe and the USA to support the album. As part of the Lady Wood Tour, Lo visited numerous cities.
In 2016, the singer worked with Nick Jonas on the single “Close”, which was featured in his album, Last Year Was Complicated. The same year, Lo and an Australian musician Flume recorded a successful track “Say It”.
At the beginning of 2017, Tove performed a soundtrack for a popular movie “Fifty Shades Darker”. The single “Lies in the Dark” was a hit. The same year, the artist released a new single “Disco Tits”, which became a part of the new LP, Blue Lips.
The album came out in November 2017. On the day of the release, the singer gave a concert in Brooklyn. The critics gave high scores to the LP, calling it a book, which you want to read over and over again. Tove mentions drugs in some of the songs as a way to forget about bad relationships.
In the summer of 2018, the talented singer released a music video to her song “Bitches” featuring Charli XCX, Icona Pop, Alma, and Elliphant. The video collected almost 7 million views on YouTube.
Tove has earned numerous prestigious awards, including iHeartRadio Music Awards, Grammis (Swedish Grammy), and Scandipop Awards.
