Zayn Malik – British singer and songwriter
Zain Javadd Malik was born on 12 January 1993 in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The singer has a mixed heritage. His mother is part British and part Irish. His dad is from Pakistan. An excellent mix of genes allowed Malik to have an impressive appearance, which made numerous teenage girls his fans. Zayn has two older and one younger sister.
Malik attended Lower Fields Primary School and Tong High School. While in high school, he showed great interest in music. When Zayn was 15, he started boxing. For two years, he attended competitions and won awards at the local level. However, at 17, he stopped boxing and turned his attention to music. Even though Malik enjoyed R&B, hip-hop, and reggae, he didn’t plan to become a celebrity. The young man was thinking of getting a higher education and working as an English teacher.
When Zayn turned 17, he got a chance to perform at the famous talent show X-Factor. At the 7th season’s qualifiers, he sang Mario’s "Let Me Love You". Even though Malik didn’t make it to the finals, he was noticed by Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell, who invited the young man to become a part of the band One Direction.
