Cost of performances of popular artists

When you are making plans to book an artist, one of the most important items is the fee. The event organizer pays a certain amount of money to the speaking professional for his services. Many factors influence the pricing policy of artists. Let's look at the most important of them.

What determines the prices for the services of guest stars?

Seeing the requested amount, many customers ask where it came from. You should immediately be prepared for the fact that the artist’s fee will not be small. At the same time, if you see a price tag lower than expected, you should not assume that you are not receiving any services.

Each artist has their own approach to pricing. However, if it is difficult to measure such things as dedication and creativity, you can consider other factors that are easier to count.

1. Event format

The format of the event is one of the main factors influencing the amount of the fee. Depending on what type of performance you need depends on the amount you pay.

  • Private parties
  • Corporate events
  • Charity meetings
  • Advertising and political speeches
  • Custom evenings
  • Scheduled performances
  • etc.

Depending on the format of the event, a site for it is selected, and a time frame is formed. Different performances require different levels of preparation and amount of rehearsal.

2. Venue of the event

The location of the event plays a rather big role. How long will it take the artist to get to the venue? Where will the star have to go from at that moment?

Even if you are organizing a party in Moscow, where the artist permanently resides, it is not a fact that the day before the event he will be in the capital, and not at events in other cities.

The cost is also affected by the average prices for star performances in the region where the event is taking place. In this case, even the average income of residents of the locality is taken into account.

3. Popularity of the star

Everything is simple here. The more popular the artist, the higher his fee will be. It is also worth taking into account the number of performers in the group (dance group, musicians). The more there are, the higher the payment.

4. Dates of the event

Demand for the services of artists often depends on dates, seasons, and holidays. For example, on a weekday the cost of a performance will be lower than on a weekend. And on a regular weekend - lower than on New Year or City Day.

5. Time to prepare

The less time you give the artist to prepare for the event, the higher the price he will charge. Therefore, it is always worth ordering the artist’s services in advance. The earlier the better.

6. Company – customer

It is also worth remembering that the name and specifics of the customer’s company may affect the fee. The more famous and larger the company, and the more income it has, the higher the performing artist's fee will be.

7.Number of guests

The size of the audience, the presence of professional musicians and the number of guests influence the size of the fee. Also, the cost of the performance may depend on the mentality of the viewer. Therefore, do not be surprised when the artist’s representative asks what kind of guests are expected at the performance.

Artist Rider

What is an artist rider? This is an official document that describes the conditions for the performance and the requirements presented by the artist to the organizer of the event.

The rider can be regarded as an agreement, according to which the customer undertakes to fulfill the star’s requirements regarding the venue and performance conditions within a certain time frame.

With the help of the rider, both parties receive comprehensive information about the performance and guarantee of services. The document is an official source for regulating issues related to the performance, and also helps resolve force majeure situations.

If the customer agrees with the terms of the rider and hires the artist, then violation of any of the points may result in refusal of the performance without compensation for losses.

Two types of riders

Today it is common to work with two types of riders. Each of them requires special attention from the customer.

1. Technical rider

The technical rider contains a list of stage, lighting and sound equipment required for a successful performance by the artist. This rider sometimes specifies the parameters of the scene, the possibility of using different techniques for special effects, and so on.

2. Household rider

The household rider specifies the star's requirements related to movement, accommodation, food, and security.

It is worth remembering that every artist, even a not very popular artist, may have a list of very specific requirements in their rider. Their number is not always proportional to the popularity of the star.

If you order a performance by a foreign artist, the rider is usually written in two languages. For Russian artists, the rider is compiled in Russian.

Booking an artist through an agency: How does this affect the fee and list of requirements?

By using the services of an agency, the customer does not have to worry about illiterate riders and inflated fees for artists, as well as problems with organizing the event.

It is worth remembering that not every star is ready to work directly with the customer, even if it is a famous company. Many artists prefer negotiations with experienced agents who know in detail how the world of show business works.

Artists often present inflated fees to event organizers. When working with an experienced agency, this probability is almost zero.

Organizing an event is a complex process that requires close attention, specific skills, negotiation skills, experience and moral investment. Having secured the support of an expert, the organizer takes off part of the burden and gets the opportunity to deal with matters that require his urgent attention. The agency takes care of the rest.
