Auston Matthews

Auston Matthews is an American professional ice hockey player celebrated for his scoring prowess, creativity, and game-changing ability. Born on September 17, 1997, in San Ramon, California, Matthews grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he developed a passion for hockey, an uncommon choice in a non-traditional market. Inspired by attending Arizona Coyotes games, Matthews began playing hockey at a young age and quickly stood out for his natural talent.

After excelling in youth hockey, Matthews joined the U.S. National Team Development Program (USNTDP), where he shattered records and established himself as one of the top prospects in the world. Instead of playing in Canadian junior hockey, Matthews opted to spend the 2015-16 season in Switzerland’s National League, competing against professionals and proving his readiness for the NHL.
