Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Yazid Zidane, born on June 23, 1972, in Marseille, France, is one of football’s most revered figures, celebrated for his elegance, vision, and technical brilliance on the pitch. Of Algerian descent, Zidane rose from humble beginnings to become a global icon.

Zidane began his professional career at Cannes before moving to Bordeaux, where his performances attracted attention from Europe’s top clubs. In 1996, he joined Juventus, winning two Serie A titles and establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. In 2001, Zidane transferred to Real Madrid for a then-record fee, where he became a key figure in the Galácticos era. At Real Madrid, he won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, famously scoring an iconic volley in the 2002 final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Internationally, Zidane led France to victory in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, scoring two goals in the final against Brazil, and the 2000 UEFA European Championship.
