Wayne Gretzky

Wayne Gretzky, born January 26, 1961, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, is widely regarded as the greatest hockey player of all time. Known as "The Great One," Gretzky revolutionized the sport with his unparalleled vision, skill, and hockey IQ. He began skating at the age of two and quickly showed prodigious talent, breaking records in youth hockey and earning national attention.

In 1978, at just 17 years old, Gretzky began his professional career in the World Hockey Association (WHA) with the Indianapolis Racers before joining the Edmonton Oilers. When the NHL absorbed the WHA in 1979, Gretzky and the Oilers became an NHL powerhouse. Over his 20-season career, Gretzky shattered numerous records, including the most career goals (894), assists (1,963), and points (2,857).
