Kenny Chesney

Kenny Chesney was born on 26 March in 1968. This singer is considered one of the most popular artists of the 2000s in this genre. Throughout his career, Chesney recorded twenty albums, fourteen of which became golden and platinum. Eight LPs topped Billboard 200. The artist recorded over 40 singles, most of which made it into top-10 of Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts. Twenty-nine of them reached the top. Chesney was born in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He grew up in Luttrell, Tennessee, a town well known as a birthplace of a popular guitar player Chet Atkins, who worked with Elvis Presley and many other celebrities. Kenny’s father was a schoolteacher, David Chesney. His mom was a hairdresser. The musician has an older brother and two sisters. Chesney graduated from Gibbs High School in Knoxville, where he played football and baseball. A year after graduation, Kenny got a guitar for his birthday and started learning how to play it. Soon, his career took off. In 1994, Chesney released his first LP, In My Wildest Dreams, which only made it into one chart. But it was an excellent start. Soon, the singer signed a contract with BNA Records and recorded a new LP, All I Need to Know, which earned a gold status from RIAA. In 1996, the artist presented a new album, Me and You. A year later, he released I Will Stand.

In 1998, Kenny recorded a hit single "Touchdown Tennessee". The next year, he released a new album Everywhere We Go, which featured such hits as "You Had Me From Hello" and "How Forever Feels". At that time, many organizers wanted to book Kenny Chesney for private events. However, he was busy releasing one album after another. In 2000, the artist presented his first compilation album, Greatest Hits, for which he recorded four new songs. Two years later, Chesney released, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems. In 2004, he recorded, When the Sun Goes Down.

A year later, Kenny presented a new LP, Be As You Are: Songs from an Old Blue Chair, and embarked on The Sun Tour to support it. In 2007, the singer released Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates. The same year, he worked with Rascal Flatts to record “Take Me There”. It became a lead single for the next LP. Chesney’s albums, one by one, were conquering US, Canadian, and Australian charts. Almost all of them achieved platinum status. Between 2008 and 2018, Chesney released seven more albums. The latest, Songs for the Saints, came out in 2018. It topped Billboard 200 and featured a platinum single “Get Along”. The second single “Better Boat” with Mindy Smith also reached high spots on the charts.

The Country Music Association granted Kenny numerous awards. He was the entertainer of the year in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The singer earned many other awards for being the top male country artist. In 2000, Kenny and his friend, a country musician Tim McGraw, got into a fight with police officers and took their horses. Both were arrested and charged. A year later, they were cleared of all charges. In the spring of 2005, Chesney married a famous American actor Renee Zellweger. They divorced in December. In 2017, Kenny helped people who suffered the consequences of hurricane Irma. The artist has a house on the Virgin Islands. He offers it to sailors, who need to wait out a storm. The singer also founded a charity, Love for Love City. Kenny Chesney continues recording new hits and performs live.
