Martina McBride

Martina McBride was born on 29 July 1966. Members of her family formed the band The Schiffters, which performed at local parties and events. After finishing high school, the young woman enrolled in college but dropped out shortly to pursue a music career. Martina was born in Sharon, Kansas. She has two brothers and a sister. McBride’s parents owned a dairy farm. Her father cultivated a big admiration for country music in Martina. Soon the girl started singing. After school, she spent hours singing along with the recordings of such artists as Connie Smith, Linda Ronstadt, Reba McIntyre, and others. When Martina turned eight, she started performing with The Schiffters. The aspiring artist started as a singer but then mastered keyboards as well. Later, she joined the group called The Penetrators. In 1987, Martine formed her own band, Lotus. The group rented studio space from a studio engineer John McBride, whom Martina married in 1988. After the wedding, the artist moved to Nashville, Tennessee to start a career as a professional country singer. Her husband was working for Garth Brooks, arranging concerts and doing other management tasks.

Martina helped John with Garth’s promotional campaign. In 1990, Brooks was so impressed with Martina’s dedication that he offered her to perform as an opening act for him, providing she had a contract with a label. John McBride helped his wife record a demo to sign a contract with RCA Nashville Records. The deal was finalized in 1991. The same year, the singer debuted with a single "The Time Has Come". The song immediately climbed to the 23rd spot of Billboard’s country chart. It was an excellent start for the young singer, whose career finally took off. Between 1995 and 2001, the artist released numerous singles, five of which reached top spots on the charts. Some people called Martina Celine Dion of country music. Many fans wanted to book Martina McBride for their private events, but she rarely agreed.  Since the beginning of her career, McBride released 13 studio albums, two greatest hits albums, and one instrumental album. Eight albums and one compilation album became gold. In the USA, the singer sold 14 million copies of her albums. The Country Music Association awarded Martina the title of the best vocalist four times.

In 1992, McBride released her debut album with the assistance of RCA Records. She called it The Time Has Come. The LP reached the 49th spot of the Billboard Country Chart. The second LP, The Way That I Am, came out in 1993. Two first singles from the track list made it into top-10 of the country chart. "My Baby Loves Me" came in second while "Life Number 9" climbed to the 6th spot. In 1995, the singer released one of her most popular albums, Wild Angels. It featured a hit single "Safe in the Arms of Love". Between 1997 and 2014, Martina recorded seven more albums. All of them reached high spots on Billboard 200 and Country Charts.

In 2016, McBride recorded a single “Reckless” for her new album with the same name. It came out with the assistance of Nash Icon Records. The album featured nine new songs. Later, the singer said that it was a homecoming album for her. It debuted on the second spot of Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. The LP, It's the Holiday Season, came out in October 2018. After the release, the artist embarked on a Christmas Tour. She also released a cookbook called "Martina’s Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life". Martina hosts a cooking show on Food Network.
