Calvin Harris – Scottish singer, DJ, producer, and songwriter
Calvin Harris’ real name is Adam Richard Wiles. He was born on 17 January 1984 in Dumfries, Scotland. After graduating from Dumfries High School, Adam found a job. He was delivering products for the local supermarket. Later, he was hired to the fish-processing factory. Wiles tried hard to earn money for professional DJ equipment. He dreamed of becoming a DJ since childhood.
In 2002, Adam released two debut tracks "Da Bongos" and "Brighter Days" together with Prima Facie label. The songs were far from becoming hits. Wiles decided to move to London to look for new opportunities in the music industry. There, he released one remix “Let Me Know” but didn’t manage to become popular. Soon he had to return to Scotland. However, the aspiring musician didn’t give up. He continued working on his songs and uploading them to Myspace. The talented artist finally caught the attention of Mark Gillespie, the famous British music manager, who helped him on his way to fame.
In 2006, Harris released a mix to the All Saint’s ‘Rock Steady”, which didn’t make it into the charts. A year later, the artist presented his debut studio album, I Created Disco. The LP climbed to the 8th spot of the UK Albums Chart. More than 16,000 copies were sold in the first week after the release. It was a big success for the young singer. Eventually, the album received a gold status in the UK. Singles “Acceptable in the 80’s” and “The Girls” earned silver certificates.

The LP topped Scottish Albums, UK Albums, and UK Dance Albums charts. It featured such hits as "Ready for the Weekend", "You Used to Hold Me", "I’m Not Alone”, and “Flashback”. All of them achieved international recognition. Even though Harris was busy touring the world, he found time to record songs for the new LP.
In 2012, the musician released another album, 18 Months. It topped UK Albums Chart and sold over 900,000 copies. The LP earned three platinum certificates in the UK. It featured eight big hits, seven of which became platinum all over the world. The most popular songs were “Sweet Nothing” and “Feel So Close”. Many fans hoped to book Calvin Harris for private events.
