SeeB (or Seeb) was formed in Norway in 2015 by two talented producers Espen Berg and Simen Eriksrud. A year later, Niklas Strandbraten joined them. The artists used first letters of their names and last names to create the name for the band. SeeB appeared thanks to the efforts of Espen Berg, who loved music since childhood. The aspiring artist learned how to play the piano when he was very young. At the age of seven, Espen performed on the national television. When he was 16, Berg became a big fan of jazz. The teenager was very determined and got a diploma at Norway University Of Science And Technology. Berg’s professional career began in 2003 when he created a music band, Listen. The group gave many concerts in different European cities.
Espen Berg finally became famous when together with his friend, Simen Eriksrud, decided to form a production duo called Seeb. Both musicians came from Trondheim – a city in central Norway. When Simen was young, he learned how to play keyboards and was invited to a local group, Padington. The artist wrote lyrics for the band and practiced to be a producer. When Berg met him, Eriksrud was already a professional musician. In 2002, he joined Livingroom Studios, which was created by Berg back in 1999. The studio worked with numerous celebrities, including Lady Gaga.
Before musicians came up with the final name and format for their group, they worked as songwriters and producers for such bands and solo artists as Donkeyboy, Bertine Zetlitz, D’Sound, and many others. At that time, the duo called itself Simen & Espen.
The first success came to SeeB after they recorded a remix to the famous song by Mike Posner, "I Took a Pill in Ibiza". The remix topped Norwegian, Irish, Dutch, and the UK charts. It also made it to the top-10 list in the USA, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, and Sweden. After that, many organizers tried to book SeeB for private events. The next remix recorded by the talented musicians was for Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches”. The song immediately became a huge hit. It topped the UK Singles Chart and made it into the top-5 of charts in Norway, the USA, Sweden, and Denmark. In 2016, Seeb recorded its first single “Breathe”. The song appeared on the seventh spot of the national chart.
Another popular remix created by the group was “Cut Me Loose”. The original version belongs to the Canadian singer, Kiesza. The same year, the duo became a trio. Niklas Strandbraten joined the band. Together they recorded remixes for such songs as "Moments" by Tove Lo, "Hymn for the Weekend" by Coldplay, and "Kids" by OneRepublic. The same year, Seeb presented a new single “What Do You Love” recorded with the assistance of Jacob Banks. The song came in second on the Norwegian chart.
In 2017, Seeb released remixes for such popular songs as "Waterfall" by Stargate, "Castle on the Hill" by Ed Sheeran, "Return of the Mack" by Mark Morrison, "2U" by David Guetta, and "Gotta Get a Grip" by Mick Jagger. The same year, they presented five original singles, among which were such hits as “Under Your Skin", "Rich Love”, and "Cruel World". The duo earned numerous prestigious awards, including a prize at the 2017 Remix Awards.
The single, "Drink About", recorded in April 2018, appeared on the second spot of the national chart. It became part of the EP, Nice to Meet You. Another single recorded that year, “Grip”, was called the best track in Norway and made it into Bastille’s Other People's Heartache, Pt. 4. A short time later, Niklas Strandbraten left the group. In 2019, Seeb recorded two singles, "Free to Go" and "Fade Out", which are expected to become part of the duo’s next album. Its release date and title haven’t been announced yet.
