Rico Sanchez, born Ljupco on July 30, 1959, in Skopje, Yugoslavia, discovered his passion for music at an early age. At just 14, he toured Europe with the folk ensemble "Mirce Acev," and by 17, he founded his first band, "Tartif." His musical journey took him across continents, from Stockholm to Melbourne, where he collaborated with international artists.
Inspired by the Gipsy Kings, he embraced Latin music, leading to his breakthrough album *UN DESEO* in 1994, with the hit *De Quien Eres* topping Macedonian charts. His follow-up, *FIESTA*, solidified his success, earning him performances alongside global stars like Al Di Meola, Robbie Williams, and Andrea Bocelli.
Rico and his band, *Rico Sanchez & The Gypsies*, have captivated millions, performing at prestigious festivals, TV shows, and elite events worldwide. Even during the pandemic, he continued releasing new music, including *Mi Amor* and *Ederlezi*. With an unmistakable voice and electrifying stage presence, Rico remains a global ambassador of Latin and world music.
