Clairo

Claire Cottrill, known professionally as Clairo, is an American singer, songwriter and musician. Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998, Clairo began recording and uploading music to Soundcloud in 2013. She gained popularity with her lo-fi bedroom pop sound, which featured simple lyrics and soft vocals.

In 2017, Clairo released her debut single “Pretty Girl” on YouTube, which quickly went viral and garnered millions of views. The success of the song led to her signing with the record label FADER Label, and later releasing her debut EP “diary 001” in 2018.

Clairo’s music has been described as a blend of indie pop, lo-fi and R&B, and has been praised for its honesty and vulnerability. Her lyrics often touch on themes of self-doubt, relationships, and mental health.

In 2019, Clairo released her debut studio album “Immunity,” which received critical acclaim and landed her on several “best albums of the year” lists. The album showcased Clairo’s growth as a songwriter and musician, incorporating more live instrumentation and experimenting with different genres.
