Lil Pump (real name Gazzy Garcia) was born on 17 August 2000 in Miami, Florida. His father is from Cuba. His mother is Mexican. Garcia started writing music at a very young age. When he was 13 years old, his cousin introduced the aspiring rapper to Omar Pineiro, known as Smokepurpp. The two musicians eventually started working together. Shortly, Garcia adopted the pseudonym “Lil Pump.” The young man was expelled from different schools due to problems with behavior. In the 10th grade, he had to leave school for good for initiating civil disturbances. Garcia’s rap career began when Smokepurpp asked him to read rap for his track. The single “Lil Pump” was released independently and unloaded to SoundCloud at the end of 2016. It became a debut single for Gazzy. He continued working hard and shortly released four more singles "Elementary", "Ignorant", "Gang Shit", and "Drum$tick", all of which were uploaded to SoundCloud. Each of them was downloaded more than 3 million times.
The rapper’s success in SoundCloud earned him impressive recognition. His style was called “SoundCloud rap”. Numerous fans tried to book Lil Pump for their private events. In the spring of 2016, Lil Pump and Smokepurpp headlined the No Jumper tour. The year 2017 began for Garcia with the release of two hit singles "D Rose" and "Boss", which were very successful on SoundCloud. Both were downloaded over 30 million times. The first one was so popular that the musician decided to film a music video. It was produced by Cole Bennett, widely known as Lyrical Lemonade. The music video appeared on YouTube in January 2017 and collected over 100 million views in under a year. “Boss” reached the 40th spot of Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and was certified gold by RIAA. Just two months before his 17th birthday, Garcia signed contracts with Tha Lights Global and Warner Bros. Records.

In July 2017, Lil Pump announced on Twitter that he is planning to release his debut LP in August. However, the release was delayed. Instead, Garcia presented a new song "Gucci Gang". It was his first single to make it into Billboard Hot 100. It reached the third spot in under 4 months. The song was uploaded to YouTube and viewed over 100 million times in just two weeks. RIAA gave the single a platinum certificate. In October 2017, the rapper finally released the announced studio album called Lil Pump. In order to record the LP, Garcia worked with numerous famous musicians, including Lil Yacht and 2 Chainz. The album debuted on the third spot of Billboard 200. XXL magazine gave the LP high ratings and great reviews. The single “I Shyne” came out in January 2018. It’s supposed to be included in the upcoming LP Battered, Bruised & Bloody, produced by DJ Carnage. Right after the release, Lit Pump cancelled his contract with Warner Bros. Records because he got a better offer from another label. It’s not clear which label it is. However, there are rumors that Gazzy made a deal with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records. In February 2018, Garcia was arrested for using firearms. The rapper claimed that he was trying to defend himself from criminals, who were breaking into his house. Garcia, who is still underage, and his mother are under investigation.
