  • Jimmy Buffett was born on December 25, 1946, in Mississippi. He is a singer, songwriter, actor, and author. Buffett is mostly famous for such songs as “Margaritaville”, "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes", “Another Saturday Night”, and “Trip Around The Sun”. He holds numerous music awards, including CMA (Country music award). Jimmy learned how to play the guitar when he was just a student. Buffett studied at The University of Southern Mississippi, where he got his bachelor’s degree. While in college, Jimmy was part of the Kappa Sigma society. After graduating, Jimmy Buffett worked as a reporter in the Nashville Billboard Magazine. Soon Buffett moved to Florida and rented an apartment in Key West. He started to work on his music and slowly created a personal performance style, which was a mix of country, folk, and pop.

    In 1970, Buffett signed a contract with Barnaby Records and released his first studio album Down To Earth, which wasn’t successful. Buffett didn’t give up and in 1973, he recorded a new album A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean. It was Jimmy’s first album, which managed to get into the chart. The LP snagged the 43rd spot on Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. In 1974, Buffett released his next album A1A, which reached the 25th spot on Billboard 200 and the same spot on Canadian Albums Chart. In 1976, Buffett came up with the LP Havana Dreaming, which was a success, reaching the 21st spot on Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. In 1977, the LP Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes became Jimmy’s most successful album to date, reaching the 2nd spot on the Top Country Albums Chart, 12th spot on Billboard 200, and 43rd spot on the Canadian Albums Chart. Jimmy released two more studio albums, the latest one being Volcano (1979). While working on his music career Buffett also tried acting. He appeared in several movies and TV shows, including Hoot and Johnny Bago. His most recent cameo was in the movie Jurassic World (2015). In 1980’s Jimmy decided to become a businessman. He is involved in various charity projects.
