Whats up my fellow freedom fighters its your boy Mike Vestil and I just want to say thank you for being crazy enough to follow me on this adventure as I record everything that happens to me on this mikevestil.com blog. If you have been following me on my YouTube channel or my Instagram my life does look pretty crazy. From climbing waterfalls, swimming with sharks, to living off of nothing but coconuts and mango smoothies as I trek my way through Europe, Asia, and South America all while working on my laptop. But life wasn’t always like this. There was a point in my life where I was laying down on the floor, depressed, and not knowing what I wanted to do with my life (I go deep into this sob story in my new book btw)
But I was fortunate enough to find some mentors that had the results that I wanted and luckily was able to create several online businesses that allowed me to escape the 9-5 rat race. Naturally, I was about to blow it all on the finer things in life. Things like nice cars, nice watches, and bottle service with my friends was first on the list. Heck I even moved to Las Vegas and lived in a hotel for an entire month just too see if that life was for me. Long story short.. It wasn’t. I ended up realizing that those things can’t really create long term happiness. That is when I realized that instead of buying materialistic things, I should spend the money I have on experiences and memories.
Now as I am writing this part of the blog at the airport, I look over to my left and see all my belongings packed up in one backpack. I am going to be traveling around the world indefinitely until I find out more about myself as I face new challenges and adventures alone. Every day will be a new story and every moment will be filled with a new adventure. And I am excited to record everything and upload it on the Mike Vestil YouTube channel for all you guys.But as I am sitting here typing, I realized something that I forgot to really appreciate for a while. For the first time after living this crazy life of mine… I realize, that I am actually happy.
