Carl Cox

Carl Cox is a British DJ, producer and musician, who has been at the forefront of the dance music scene for over three decades. Born on July 29, 1962 in Barbados and raised in Oldham, Greater Manchester, Carl began his career playing house and techno music in the acid house era of the late 1980s.

In the early 1990s, Carl's popularity skyrocketed thanks to his residency at the iconic nightclub, the 'The Sound Factory' in New York. His innovative approach to mixing and his signature emphatic energy on the decks quickly won him a loyal following and launched him into international stardom.

Over the years, Carl has released countless hit tracks, including the club anthems 'Phuture 2000' and 'I Want You'. He has also produced a number of successful remixes for popular artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode and Madonna among others.

By the mid-2000s, Carl had established himself as one of the most sought-after DJs in the world, regularly headlining at festivals and clubs across the globe. In 2006, he started his own music label, Intec, which has become one of the most respected techno labels in the industry.

In 2018, after more than three decades of touring, Carl announced that he would be stepping back from the incessant schedule of touring and clubbing to focus on other projects. However, despite his reduced touring schedule, Carl remains one of the most respected figures in dance music – his impact on the scene and its culture is sure to endure for generations to come.
