Rudimental

Rudimental was formed in 2010 in Hackney, London. Musicians earned numerous awards and became popular all over the world. The lineup includes Piers Aggett, Amir Amor, Kesi Dryden, and Leon Rolle (DJ Locksmith). The leader of the group is Kesi Dryden. He was the one, who came up with the name for the band. When Kesi was young, he took piano lessons. His teacher used the textbook, which talked about rudiments, which are special methods for learning. These lessons were so memorable that Kesi decided to use them in the name of the band. That’s how Rudimental appeared.

In the spring 2011, the group released a debut single, "Deep in the Valley". To record it, the artists invited MC Shantie. Soon after that, they presented a new song, “Speeding”. The guest vocalist was Adiyam. By the end of the year, the producer Amir Amor joined the band. He helped record such popular tracks as "Feel the Love", "Not Giving In", and "Spoons".

In May 2012, the band recorded a single "Feel the Love". They invited John Newman as a vocalist. The single entered the British chart and soon topped it. It also appeared in top-5 of the charts in the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, and New Zealand. In the fall of 2012, Rudimental presented their next single for the upcoming album. "Not Giving In" was recorded with the assistance of John Newman and Alex Clare. The song reached the 14th spot of the UK Singles Chart. The next track, "Hell Could Freeze", which featured vocals from Angel Haze, appeared at the beginning of 2013. Soon the artists started working with Ella Eyre to record a new single "Waiting All Night". Both of the above songs were expected to be featured in the new album. The latter topped the UK Singles Chart and stayed there for a long while.

In 2013, Rudimental released its first LP. Home immediately topped the UK Albums Chart. Soon it became platinum in the UK and Australia. Next year, the album was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize and brought the artists aeprestigious MOBO award. At that time, many fans started trying to book Rudimental for private events. After the release, Rudimental embarked on a long tour of the UK, Australia, the USA, and Europe. In August, musicians got an offer from Jay Z to work with Roc Nation and go to the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia. The same year, the band appeared on Outsidelands festival in San Francisco and performed at the Future Music Festival in Australia. The next single released by the artist was "Powerless". They recorded it with the vocals by Becky Hill. At about the same time, the band announced that it was working on the next studio album.

In October 2015, Rudimental presented the second LP, We the Generation. It topped the UK Albums Chart. To record singles for the album, the artists worked with such musicians as Bobby Womack, Ed Sheeran, and MNEK. The band was getting numerous offers to perform at different music festivals. They also earned many nominations for prestigious awards, including MOBO and the UK Music Video. The band continued playing modern electronic music and attracting more and more fans.

In 2017, Rudimental released a new single “Sun Comes Up” with James Arthur. The track went platinum. The following song, “These Days” with vocals from Jess Glynne, Macklemore, and Dan Caplen became a huge hit and stayed in the charts for seven weeks. In May 2018, the artists announced a new album. Toast to Our Differences came out in 2019 and reached high spots on the chart. To record songs for the album, Rudimental invited Rita Ora and Jess Glynne. The band continues recording new songs and performing live.
