  • Singer and songwriter Keri Lynn Hilson was born on 5 December 1982 in Georgia, near Atlanta. She was an active child, who always wanted to keep trying something new. Such an approach helped her become one of the leading members of the school swimming team. Keri also appeared on TV, in such projects as Star Search and Showtime at the Apollo. They helped Keri start her music career. Hilson’s mother was a piano teacher, who noted that the young woman never liked playing musical instruments. She always favored singing. Keri spent all of her free time, training her voice. At 18, she became a back vocalist in a local group, D’Sign. Hilson is an excellent singer and a good songwriter. She wrote texts for such artists as Usher, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, and Ludacris when they were in the initial stages of their careers. The future celebrity started working with a songwriter Anthony Dent, who was popular for his collaboration with Destiny’s Child and Diddy. After graduating from high school. Keri continued her music career and enrolled in Emory University in Atlanta. She managed to combine working and studying. Soon, the young women had to go through some life changes. She left her first band and started working with a producer, Polow da Don.

    Polow was watching the singer’s success closely. He helped her get to know the producer and the owner of a label, Timbaland. After some time, Hilson signed a contract with the Mosley Music Group label, which gave a big push to her career. While working with Mosley, Keri created several hits, which made her popular in the United States. They were Ice Box", "Wait a Minute", "Take Me as I Am", and "Like a Boy". While recording these songs, the young woman found time to collaborate with other artists. One of them was Britney Spears. In 2004, at MTV Europe Awards ceremony, Hilson sang with Xzibit. The two artists performed "Hey Now (Mean Muggin)". It was a big step in the singer’s career, which made her even more popular. Many fans wanted to book Keri Hilson for private events. In 2006, Nelly Furtado filmed a music video for her single "Promiscuous" and invited Hilson to appear in it. After that, the young singer worked with Diddy and Lloyd Banks on such songs as "Help" and "After Love".

The artist kept working with other musicians. When recording her album, Blackout, Britney Spears invited Keri to be the back vocalist. Hilson worked hard on her own songs and finally released her first LP. In a Perfect World... appeared in 2009. The album was unique thanks to the deep lyrics, harmonious music, and beautiful love stories. Keri’s vocals were in high demand. After the album’s release, she recorded music videos for the singles "Where Did He Go" and "Energy". The single "Knock You Down", recorded with Kanye West and Ne-Yo, became a huge hit and went platinum. In 2010, Keri recorded one more album, No Boys Allowed. It featured pop and R&B genres. In the USA, the album climbed to the 11th spot of Billboard 200 and the 7th position of Top R & B / Hip-Hop Albums Chart. In the first week of sales, the LP sold over 100,000 copies. Between 2012 and 2017, Keri showed off her acting talent. She appeared in such popular movies as Think Like a Man, Riddick, and Almost Christmas. In 2018, she performed at Capital Pride Festival in Washington. In 2019, Hilson released her latest album to date, L.I.A.R. It featured such popular songs as "Closure", "Searching", "Can't Get Enough", "Again", and "Inside". In the summer, Hilson is planning to participate in Femme It Forward Tour.
