Thomas Anders is a German pop singer, songwriter and actor. He became famous around the world as the former lead singer of the cult pop band Modern Talking.
His real name is Bernd Weidung. Bernd began his career at the age of 7, but was professionally engaged in the music sphere in 1980 at the age of 17. In 1984, the world was conquered with the Modern Talking hit "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", recorded together with a second soloist Ditter Bohlen.
Modern Talking is the most successful German pop project. During their career, Modern Talking released six albums and 9 singles, 5 of them were the number 1 in many charts worldwide. In total, over 60 million copies of albums were sold worldwide. The band's albums received 40 times "platinum" and 200 "gold" statuses.
Since 1987 Anders has started his solo career, and in 1989 he released his first album. In 1998, the singers announced a reunite.
In 2003, Thomas returned to his solo career, his singles again hit European charts. Until today Thomas has been conquering the music venues worldwide.
