Rise Against - famous Rock band, formed by former members of the bands '88 Fingers Louie 'and' Baxter '. The first line-up of 'Transistor Revolt' included vocalist Tim McIlrath, bassist and vocalist Joe Principe, drummer Toni Tintari and guitarist and vocalist known as Mr. Precision, Mister Accuracy). The group never performed live with this line-up, but they still managed to record an EP. Tintari left the band shortly after the recording; he was replaced by Brandon Barnes.

In 2001, the band changed their name to 'Rise Against' and released their first album, 'The Unraveling'. In the same year, Mister Prescription left the group; he was succeeded by Todd Mohney of The Killing Tree. The musicians went on tour in support of their debut album; in December 2002 they returned to the studio and began working on their second album, Revolutions per Minute. This album came out in 2003; a tour was also arranged to support him. In December 2003, the band signed to Dreamworks Records and began recording their third album, Siren Song of the Counter Culture. Dreamworks soon joined the Universal Music Group; Rise Against was turned over to another division of the company, Geffen Records. Soon after the band signed to Geffen Records, they had to look for a new guitarist; the departed Toda Moni was replaced by Chris Chasse.

The album 'Siren Song of the Counter Culture' was released in August 2004. Not only was it the first 'Rise Against' album to be released through a valid major label, but also their first album to hit the Billboard 200 chart; in addition, it received a 'gold' status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In January 2006, after touring extensively in support of Siren Song of the Counter Culture, the band recorded their fourth studio album. It was called 'The Sufferer & the Witness' and went on sale on 4th July 2006. In the charts' U.S. Billboard 200 'it managed to climb to 10th line; in the first week, 48397 copies were sold.

On February 23rd, 2007 it became known that Chris Chase was leaving the band; the musician came to the conclusion that he was no longer able to withstand such a busy touring schedule. Chase was replaced by Zach Blair. The fifth album, 'Appeal to Reason', was released on October 4th, 2008 in Australia (Australia), 6th in Europe (Europe), and 7th in the USA. The group surpassed their own sales record in the first week by a head - this time they managed to sell 64,700 discs. Critics, however, rated this album slightly lower than the previous one - the musicians were accused of striving to please the broad masses and avoiding hardcore punk.

On September 14, 2010 it became known that the musicians are working on the sixth album; it was supposed to come out in 2011. Work on 'Endgame' was completed in January; it went on sale in March. Among other things, the album is also interesting because for the first time the musicians openly expressed their point of view on homophobia as a phenomenon; The composition 'Make It Stop (September's Children)' is dedicated to this unpleasant theme, referring to the September 2010 suicides of gay teenagers. At the moment, the group is preparing for another tour; details have not yet been disclosed.
