Blondie

An American Group "Blondie" was named as a tribute to its leader's nickname. The band was founded by a former waitress Debbie Harry and a guitarist Chris Stein in 1974. The first album was released in 1976. "Blondie" toured a lot, performing at different night clubs and gaining popularity. They played punk, but always claimed that they didn't follow the exact music style.

The most popular and well-known songs of "Blondie" are "Maria", "Heart of Glass" and "Call me".

By that time, Blondie had practically forgotten their punk roots and reoriented themselves to the pop market.

On a wave of success, Debbie began acting in films, and her first film was "Union City". The fourth and fifth albums continued to lead the group to the conquest of the musical Olympus and were very popular among music lovers. Needless to say, both of these discs were platinum.

It took a full 16 years before the former colleagues got back together. In 1999, "Blondie" released the album "No exit", which sold over 2 million copies. The most notable song on it was "Maria", which topped the charts in 14 countries. The band undertook a couple of global European-American tours before heading back to the studio to delight their fans with a new album.
