ASAP Ferg – a rapper from NY, member of ASAP Mob
ASAP Ferg is one of the most mysterious members of a hip-hop band ASAP Mob and a talented solo singer. His real name is Darold Durard Brown Ferguson Jr. Darold was born in Harlem, New York on 20 October 1988. He was a big fan of music since childhood. The singer’s father died early, and he decided to continue his father’s business. The rapper sold clothing and jewelry. He also enrolled in an art school. In 2005, the talented young man presented his first collection. It featured unique belts, which were later worn by such celebrities as Diggy Simmons.
After trying himself in business and design, Ferguson decided to go back to his childhood dream and become a singer. Later, in one of the interviews, ASAP Rocky called ASAP Ferg an extremely talented musician, who had a unique skill to make money from scratch. Rocky helped Darold join ASAP Mob, which jump-started his career.
After recording several demos, which didn’t bring him an offer from any label, ASAP Ferg helped ASAP Mob record one of its mixtapes. The debut single “Work” reached the top-50 of Complex Magazine’s list. As a result, the young artist was finally noticed. The music video for “Work” collected over 2 million views.

In January 2013, the rapper announced that the debut LP would be called Trap Lord. During that period, he signed contracts with RCA Records and Polo Grounds. Several months later, the artist presented a remix to “Work”, recorded with the assistance of such successful American rappers as Schoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, French Montana, and Trinidad James. The album came out in August 2013.
Right after the album’s release, it climbed to the 9th spot of Billboard 200 and became highly commercially successful. The same year, ASAP Ferg earned a prize at Bet Hip Hop Awards for “Rookie of the Year”. It’s worth noting that the rapper didn’t even attend the ceremony because he was sure he wouldn’t get the prize. At that time, many clubs tried to book ASAP Ferg for private events.
In 2014, Ferg helped Ariana Grande record "Hands on Me" for her second LP, My Everything. In February 2015, the rapper filmed a music video for the single "Dope Walk", which was featured in his new mixtape Ferg Forever. He came up with a popular dance for the video, which had the same name as the single.
The music video was filmed with an iPhone at the New York Fashion Week. It featured a successful model Cara Delevingne and many other celebrities, including Kanye West, Kris Jenner, Diddy, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, and others.
In the fall of 2015, ASAP Ferg participated in the filming of a music video for Future’s song "Thought It Was a Drought". After some time, during an interview with The Source, Ferg said that the next album he is working on is bound to become his best.
In April 2016, the rapper presented the next LP, Always Strive And Prosper. It reached the 8th spot of Billboard 200. The lead single ‘New Level” was recorded with the assistance of Future. The song earned gold status a few months after the release.
The same year, together with Playboi Carti, Ferg embarked on a tour called Turnt & Burnt. Next year, together with Ally Brooke, he recorded a new single “Look At Us Now”.
In August, the artist presented a new mixtape, Still Striving. It featured a successful single “Plain Jane” and thirteen other songs.
In 2018, ASAP Ferg appeared in a commercial for Tiffany & Co. with Elle Fanning. In the ad, he performed a remix to the song "Moon River" from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
In 2019, the artist recorded an EP, Floor Seats with the support of A$AP Worldwide, Polo Grounds, and RCA. It came out in August and reached good spots on the charts.
The album featured several collaboration singles, including "Pups" with ASAP Rocky and “Wam" with MadeinTYO. Right now, the artist is working on the next album.
